ASHK Scholarship (2026)

The Actuarial Society of Hong Kong (ASHK) is proud to offer a scholarship for university students who wish to pursue an actuary-related profession. This essential profession, which combines mathematics and financial theory, is crucial for managing risk in sectors like insurance and finance.

 

Our scholarship aims to recognise talented students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential. By reducing financial barriers, we empower future actuaries to succeed in their studies and tackle the challenges of a dynamic market.

 

We invite eligible students to apply and join us in cultivating a diverse pool of skilled actuaries who will contribute to the financial community’s growth and sustainability in Hong Kong.

 

Scholarship

- Five (5) scholarships (for 2026)

- HK$10,000 per awardee

- A mentor for one year for each awardee

 

Eligibility

- Full-time student (undergraduate or postgraduate) from any university in Hong Kong, and

- An ASHK University Student member (can apply at the same time <here>), and

- Have an academic standing (CGPA) equivalent to getting a First Class Honours in the corresponding study programme, or the top decile of the class

Before you apply, you will need

1. To register as an ASHK University Student <here>

2. Your CV

3. Scanned copy of your Student ID card

4. Scanned copy of your most recent academic transcript

5. Letter of recommendation from a university professor or actuarial supervisor who can attest to your academic potential and/or professional aptitude. 

6. Prepare an essay (max 800 words) to tell us about: 

  - Why do you want to enter the actuarial profession?

  - What are your professional career aspirations, and how do you aim to make a difference during your actuarial career in Hong Kong?

  - How will the scholarship enable you to focus on studies and/or actuarial exam preparation, as well as professional development in actuarial science?

  - What do you propose to do as a member of ASHK, and to enhance the image of ASHK?
