Overseas Professional Actuarial Examinations
To qualify as an actuary, one needs to pass a series of professional examinations. ASHK members usually take the examination of the various overseas professional bodies like Actuaries Institute Australia, the Casualty Actuarial Society, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) and Society of Actuaries (US). The information on the syllabus and other examination arrangements can be obtained directly from these bodies.
It is up to individuals to consider which body they wish to study through. Syllabus differs slightly between bodies from different countries, but the examinations offered by the above actuarial bodies are internationally recognised.
Moreover, Society of Actuaries (US) & ASHK jointly produced and co-branded an e-learning module on Regulation and Taxation (also a professional development e-course) focusing on Hong Kong. The module and e-course have been implemented and officially launched since October 2016.
